When a kid, I called them “Gootchie cars” for no especial reason, perhaps due to the upper-lip-shaped windshield and the rest of the car was just styled, well, kind of weird. Still, they intrigued me and do to this …. of what Americans wanted in a car. Developed specifically to sell in the US market, it was a big convertible, with power hood and windows (there was even a hardtop later) it was too odd and too expensive for American tastes, and totally alien to British tastes.
